Richard's Story

Hi, 2024: Still alive and still retired! Living in the mountains and having a great time exploring the earth. 2019: what a great 50th-SUHI Reunion we had! Our faces, bodies, and minds have definitely aged...but, like a fine-wine, we have matured and are even better than back in 1969. 2017:I have retired...but, what does that mean ? I learned a lot from my parents...most important, there is a time when we need to relax and do the things we deferred in order to focus on family and work. We will start traveling more (2019 update: still doing that!); and work on those overdue-DIY projects for at least 6-months each year (2019 update: I actually completed a few). It is time to dust off the bicycles and work to beat the mileage of years long past! (2019 update: that will start NOW...I need to get in shape to ride with Matias Garcia!). The rest of the time, I will try to charge outrageous rates for intellectual advisory during the dark-winter months on the East Coast (2019 update: Not in the plan, anymore. Too many DIY projects and planned travel). If no one wants my services, I always have the excuse that I have retired...which beats admitting that I may have become irrelevant! (2019 update: well, I have become irrelevant!). At least our dogs will enjoy having me around more (2019 update: dogs get old and slow down, too. Time to buy a new puppy-this month; let the old dogs teach it old tricks; and let the puppy teach all of us new tricks...this will be fun for all of us...I hope!) At 66, (2019 update: ...at 68) it is still great to spend a weekend - now, several days - in a n...Expand for more
ice place with good people, fine wine, great food, atmosphere, history, and great scenery! We still live in Princeton, NJ (2019 update: that will change as we travel more, and find a better place with LOWER TAXES...and limited impacts from global warming!). One of our daughters is an entrepreneur, and one of the top-rated event planners in the region. She added "Grandparent" to my C.V this past year (2019 update: our Very Happy granddaughter is now a vibrant-3 years old). Our younger daughter is a top-rated teacher for children with autism. I hope to use her success - if needed - to get past the Pearly Gates some day...hopefully many years in the future. 2019 update: LIfe is Great - Best wishes to all!! Life has been good...I can only hope it will be even better moving forward. The reunions of the past have been wonderful. It has been so rewarding to visit with all of you and other old friends - and meet old classmates that I did not know well back in 1969. You have all made me feel so happy to be a member of our class,...we turned out to be good people, parents, and citizens. While it has been sad to learn of the passing of some of our old friends - their memories remain warm ...and I only remember the good times I had with them. I look forward to the next reunion, when we can all meet again and hopefully say all those nice things I did not communicate to you in the past...and meet more of you that I did not know well back in 1969. Until then, I look forward to seeing you all and wish you my best! Life is Good. P.S., Which one of you thought I was, "Athletic"...OUCH! Richard
