Richard's Story
Life
I flited here and there early on, I graduated from Airline Academy school in 84 in Vancouver, WA. Came back to Ak and went FireFighting with Timmy Peet. Went to L.A. for a year going to College, didn't much enjoy that. Pulled A's and B's ( what a suprise) Came back to Alaska, found someone who I had a such a wonderful relationship with that we got married, Twice. We have been together for about 11 yrs now. 1 child with her, she has two boys. We are doing alright. I am communications tech with the IBEW and work on the slope. I am now a Christian and love going to church, Maybe I just wasn't ready for rel...Expand for more

Workplace
I joined the IBEW and now am a journeyman communications tech. I have been a member since 91. I work on the slope right now and do everything from splice fiberoptics to install comp. networks and do mobile radios in trucks and cable and satallite tv and do telephone work. We climb comm towers and install microwave radio systems too. Good job and great pay and retirement. I like my job, I have seen many people from NPJSHS working up here, Carl Thompkins works in Deadhorse, I bumped into Ted Domke one day while walking down the hall. That was a suprise.
