Life When I grauated from Clayton I attended Reno High School for two years. Transfered to Wooster my senior year. Dropped out in January 1968. I entered the Army in Feburary 1968 for a three year tour. I went to Ft. Lewis, Washington for basic training. To Ft. Ord, California to train as a truck driver. From there to Vietnam were I drove 6000 Gallon fuel tractor trailer vehicles. I took my GED test and recieved my GED from the army. I was in Vietnam from July 1968, to July 1969. Spent two years at FT. Polk Lousinana, as a tractor trailer driver transporting Basic Training Solders to the training sites. Spent one year in Ft. Carson Colorado. Working at the Base Bowling alley and coaching little league baseball. For the remainder of my service of 7 years 8 months was spent in Bomholder, Germany driving Heavy Tracter Trailer vehicles, hauling heavy construction equipment. I was in a operating engineer company. Traveled all over germany delivering construction equipment. Had a working rock quary. I was taking some mechanic courses on my own and the captain asked me to take over the Equipment Maintanance desk job. Took care of 158 pieces of construction equipment from as small as a 1000 Watt Generators to Primary and Secondary rock chrushers. Did maintance reports, maintance records for servicing all the equipment. At times I had to troubleshoot electrical problems because there wasn't anyone who could do the work. I even kept log book records and dispached them. I implemented the armys computerize report system which was done on key punch cards. Also traveled to France,Italy,Holland and the Barverian Alps for Sking. In the town of Berchisgarden, I stayed in a hotel, Hitler built for himself and his staff. Left the military in 1975 and resided in Carson City. I left Nevada to California were I learned my trade as a Master mechanic, Then on to vehicle electrical systems. Started with the first computer systems, smog systems (Certified Smog Technician) Worked on Cars,...Expand for more
trucks, School Buses. Started my own auto electrical business which lasted two years. My back started to give me problems so I went to a Doctor who found out that my left leg signals were different that the right leg. I hurt my back a few times while I was in the service so the doctor recommend to go to the Veterans Administration and filed a Claim. So the VA gave me a percentage raiting. After closing my business I went to Santa Rosa where my parents were staying and inrolled at the Junior Collage, the VA paid for all classes, I recieved an AS Degree in Electronics Technology in 1985. Couldn't find a job in the electronic Field. Went back to working on cars. I found a job in the glass coating field and was trying to get on as a electronic troubleshooter for the glass coating machines. While working there a disk in my back collapsed pushing on a nerve. Went to the VA and had my back operated on was up and running within month. Went back Working on cars, I found a job working for a communication company. My back went out again after ten years from my first operation. Same disk collapsed again. Went to the VA had another operation. Took me 11 months to get back to were I could work again. The VA told me to stop working on cars and any jobs that I had to lift over 15 lbs. The VA sent me back to school. I recieved my Completion of Electronic Certificate in 1995. This certificate says that I qualify as a Electronic Technician. Went to work for a Temp Agency for a year. The Hewlet Packard Company hired me to test and repair completed circuit boards for shipment. Then went to a line toubleshooting, repairing, and maintaning systems for products for a year. I closed the line, moved it to an outside company. I then went to micro to test and repair and maintain systems. Learned to program systems. All the work was done under microscopes. The job lasted five years, I was happy, then my back went out. I'm 100 percent disabled, and I didn't want to leave. I even tried to work.
