As a youngster I attended schools in both Chama, NM and in Pagosa Springs, CO. My family (Dad, Mom,and brother Billy) moved from Chama, NM to Oregon in the late Fall 1960. I did not reenroll in school there so was a Junior year droupout. I joined the US Army in Dec. 1961. The Army was good to and for me. Through a battery of aptitude/talent tests the Army put me into an intensive high tech. training program which resulted in me being placed into a classified air defense system as a repair/maintainence technician. I also got my GED while serving in the Army. I was married in February 1962. After discharge from the Army in late 1964, I was employed with Western Electric (an AT&T company) as a telephone equipment installer and remained at that job for 30 years.
