Life
Born and raised in Midland; graduated from McMurry University and S.M.U. Law School; practiced law in Texas Panhandle until 1974, then served as District Judge (1974-79)and Court of Appeals Justice(1979-88).Returned to private practice in Houston.Now spend 2-3 days in office and rest of week at my home on Lake Livingston.3 children, 5 g/children, same wife for 46 years.
UPDATE: 10/22/10. Same wife for 52 years; 6 grandchildren. Retirement delayed. Living full time on Lake Livingston but will become Criminal District Attorney of San Jacinto county on 1/1/2011. Incumbent DA died suddenly, local Democratic Executive Committee asked me to take his place on the ballot. Being unopposed I expect to win by at least 50.1%.

pdate. 11/18/14. Now fully retired. Same wife, same 3 children and 6 grandchildren, now doing what I want to do.
Update #3. 6/20/15. Warning!!! This retirement thing is not as easy as advertised. I am still working hard, but I don't get paid for it. Thank God for fracking and a grandfather that settled in Midland County and bought a sandy land farm on top of a shale oil field.
2/5/18. After a couple of years of age related problems -- none overly serious but enough to slow us down some--we are ready to take a few trips. We both love London and hope to spend some time there soon. We are also looking at a trip across the northern segment of the globe that would give us a chance to see Greenland and Iceland and Norway.
