Richard's Story
After graduation in Jun of '73, I landed a job in the Penn Central Yard office on South Cameron Blvd. In '76 the railroad became ConRail and in July of that year, I moved up to the St Thomas yard office and found an apartment in London. I've lived in London ever since. In 1985 CN/CP bought the Canadian Division of Conrail and within a year I was laid off, work moved to Toronto, and the shut down of the division historically known as Canada Southern began. As soon as I received my notice, I applied to London Transit as a bus operator and was hired in July of '87 where I have been employed ever since. I am now working as a Transit Inspector, a position I've held since Feb 3/13.

en from each union. Richard L. 1981, Renee L 1984, Matthew 1992 and Rachel 1995.
As I was into computers during school, the interest has continued to this day. I'm now involved with Rail Simulators, Flight simulators and Simulated Air Traffic Control with online flight simulators (Vatsim.net)
Since I had to switch careers at age 32, I plan to be with LTC for another 7 years to be able to build up enough of a retirement fund to be able to survive retirement.
After years of being "stuck" in Southern Ontario, I finally had the opportunity to drive out west to BC with my brother in April 2014. I'd love to get out there again sometime when I have more time to spend enjoying the scenery!!
