Richard's Story
After high school I enlisted in the Marine Corps and volunteered for Vietnam as my brother was already there. I served with Delta Co. 1stbn, 1st marine regiment, 1st marine division. I was involved in several firefights and wounded on four occasions. Returning home I was stationed at Camp LeJeune, N.C. where I was with the military police. e daughter Danielle who is a nurse practitioner in the Detroit area and deserves my bronze star for the work she's done during the pandemic. She has a daughter, Olivia, who is in college in Mt. Pleasant.
After six years in the Marines I went to college and taught alternative education to at-risk kids for 26 years and my wife earned her MBA and worked in human resources. My wife and I have traveled in all 50 states and every province and territory in Canada. If you haven't been to Alaska, try to make it.
