Richard's Story

Dick Fleming is from Baltimore, Maryland. He is married to Sarah B. Smith, and has two daughters, Caitlin Fleming and Tess Fleming. First grandchild, Henry Smith Fleming Kleiman, was born on September 15, 2022. His schools include Towson Catholic High School; he later graduated from Loyola College, Baltimore, and holds an MBA from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of City & Regional Planning, also from University of Pennsylvania. He currently works at Chairman and CEO at Community Development Ventures, Inc., located in the CORTEX Innovation District in St. Louis. He served in the Sub-Cabinet at the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) as General Deputy Assistant Secretary for Community Planning & Development in the Carter Administration from 1976-1980. Dick's interests include: mentoring entrepreneurs; baseball (St. Louis Cardinals); and politics. Music he likes includes St. Louis Cathedral Concerts, Rock & Roll and Jazz..
