Richard's Story

I quit James Madison High School a few months before graduation and ran as fast as I could! I ran away from my parents in Brooklyn also, and ended up in Manhattan, where I moved into a slummy apartment and became an early hippie. Got married and divorced from my high school girlfriend in short order, then bummed around the US for a few years. Came back and got involved in the New York punk rock, lower-east-side art scene. I was a roadie for bands like the Ramones, Blondie, the Police, and the Heartbreakers and traveled across the US with many new-wave bands. er progrtamming and went back to school at Kingsborough - graduated from their Data Processing curriculum. Then went on to an IT career at Citicorp, Dun & Bradstreet, and Cap Gemini as an IT consultant. In 1999, wrote a book called "The IT Consultant", which did well and started me on my current careeer as a writer, speaker, and consultant in the IT community. I now train IT professionals from company's like Intel, Microsoft, HP, and others around the world in consulting skills and project management. I live in Kansas City with my wife of 25+years and my three dogs, and travel internationally for work and play most of the year.
