An Army brat, married to an Army brat, raising 3 Army brats in 5 countries. I've been fortunate with three great careers (allowing me to finally retire -2010), a great family, and good health (other than weighing a lot more than I should). After retiring from the Army, in late 1988, I went into Human Resources Management at a Steel Mill in El Paso, TX where Karen and I had met in 1959 while in high school. After 5 years there we moved to Temple, Texas still in HR but in furniture manufacturing. I had a chance to move into Manufacturing Management in the office furniture industry and Karen and I moved to California (we'd been there twice - at Ft. Ord and at the Presidio of San Francisco.) After my managing an office casegoods manufacturing company, MaverickDesk, in Gardena and Karen running a non-profit Seniors Association in Rolling Hills Estates, we started downsizing and finally retired in 2010, moving back to the East Coast. As of 2015, we spend summers in Chelsea, Vermont and other time at our vacation home in Cape Coral, Florida or visiting our sons and their families in Oregon, California, and Texas.
