Richard's Story
2011 is a big anniversary bonanza year for me: 40th high school, 35th college and 30th wedding.
When advertising revenue plummeted in 2009, I was laid off from my job as a features editor for a small magazine publishing firm in Cary, NC, outside Raleigh. hop-skip-and-a-jump to the Queen City of Charlotte instead of back up to the frozen tundra of Minnesota, where I was from 1987 to 1992.
Lynda and I have two adult-age daughters, both of whom are teaching, one in north Raleigh and the other in Denver. We will experience our first family wedding, when our oldest daughter, Laura, 27, gets married. Her younger sister, Emily, 25, will be her maid of honor.
