Richard Henderson:  

Life I grew up in Glen Burnie and attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. There, I dual majored in education and biology. After graduation, I returned to MD where I worked as a chemical lab technician for about 2 years. It was then that I reconnected with an old friend from GBHS, Debbie Haines. We married in 1979. In 1980, we moved to St. Petersburg, FL where I worked as a science teacher for 13 years. During this period, I earned two masters degrees -- one in interdisciplinary sciences and the other in educational leadership. Debbie got her AA and BS degrees in social studies education while we were there. We then moved to Jackson Hole, WY where I taught at the high school and the community college, mostly in my specialty, anatomy & physiology. In 1997, we returned to MD. Debbie got a job teaching at Old Mill H. S. and I became the science department chair at Dulaney High in Baltimore County. We lived in Severna Park with our 3 dogs and a cat.
