After 25 years in law enforcement (since 1979) and teaching college part-time (since 1989), I reversed roles and began teaching full-time while completing my doctorate at the University of West Florida in Pensacola. I now do the police bit part-time. I also do consulting as a police practices expert.
Teaching has been a big part of my career whether it's at the police academy, in-service or at the university level. I really can't picture doing something else that is this rewarding.
