Richard's Story
I live in Manassas, Virginia. Family is doing great. I am on the verge of adopting 3 girls, Sadie 12, Alyza 8 and Jada 7 this December 17th. Talk about a Christmas gift times 3!!! I've fostered many children since 1992. These three that we have, well, we simply fell in love with and they are amazing which is why we (Me and Tonya my wife) have decided to adopt.
Work: I am currently working at BAE Systems as a Senior Lead Systems Administrator. I have been with them for almost 3 years now. Dealing with server performance, installs, rack elevation builds and everything else you can think of pertaining to maintenance and upkeep of a server room both at site and multiple sites across the country.
Marine Corps: I was discharged honorably in February of 2004. Made it to rank of Sergeant select (meaning I got the rank but got out before I wore the stripes). als during that time. My Unit was attached to a Medical Battalion 4th FSSG (Force Service Support Group) Where my job was really 3 jobs: Humvee driver, 5 ton driver and 50 cal machine gunner. For the most part I did the driving on convoys entering in/out of hot spots where the insurgents were reported. No casualties (thank God) since I was always on those 200+ vehicle convoys that were well protected. The insurgents were smart not to infiltrate our convoy or else get blown to bits.
The best part, I must say about the whole war was being able to (in between missions/convoys) teach Jesus to troops both Marine and soldiers pretty much any chance I got. Which leads to my ministries as a Deacon at Calvary Chapel of Manassas, teach and Oversee the Childrens ministry, Sunday school, Lead Ushers, backup vocals of our Worship Team and Board member as if that isn't enough duties.
In all, life is wonderful, busy and exciting to say the least. It's never boring that's for sure.
