Richard's Story
Life
I am married and have two daughters. Makala Rose is 6 and loves gymnastics and her dog Speedy. Caroline Renea is 4 and a real daddys girl who loves horses. My wife Kim and I have been married for about 8 years and together about 9. We live in Gillette, Wyoming.
School
Right out of high school I attended Eastern Wyoming College for two years. I got a criminal justice degree and went to work for a law enforcement agency. I have attended the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy twice. First as a detention officer for 4 weeks and again as a peace officer for 12. I have also attended first line supervision training and DARE officer basic school.
Workplace

e Sheriff's Office for 10 years and have a total of 15 years of law enforcement expirience. I am currently assaigned to the DARE office where I teach safety and drug education. I typically teach 4 days a week and a different school every day. My classes range from Kindergarten to 7th grade. In the summer I assaigned to other duties in the sheriff's department as the need arises.
Military
I did not join the Navy as I had planned in high school. I went to college with the idea of joining when I got out. I got a law enfoecement job right out of college that payed pretty well and never saw my recruter again. I sometimes wish I had joined the military because I think I missed out on an opportunity to serve my country.
