Richard's Story
Life (2008)
Living on MS/AL Gulf Coast since 1984. Retired USN 1989. I have worked as a Government contractor since 1990. Now working toward (an early I hope) retirement. My Dad, who passed away in 2006 at the age of 84, managed to retire at 60. He often told me afterwards that he quickly realized he was "born for retirement". I'd like to try that out!
My wife Patty and I have raised four kids. We still have one who is hanging out with us while he finishes Physician Assistant training, but for the most part we're "empty nesters" without the associated syndrome. We're very much looking forward to retirement. We moved to our retirement home this yea...Expand for more
r. It's a hundred miles to my office, but I only go over once a week, and work from home other days. So the path to retirement is materializing! The area in which we're now located, close to Pensacola, FL, has much to offer for entertainment, enjoyment or just relaxation, plus we now have four grandchildren we can ruin.
Much to be thankful for. Much to look forward to.
And as for looking forward, I hope to see many of you at the upcoming reunion in Novemeber 2008!!
