Richard's Story
Update - November 2010
Been traveling the country for a couple of years now, interviewing Franchisor's in the restaurant industry. Looks like I may be opening a store in Orange County with plans to expand into multiple locations and multiple concepts on the West Coast in the future. It's a great opportunity to combine my commercial real estate experience with my love for food. Have been in San Diego, the Slilcon Valley and the Greater Seattle areas scouting locations. Quick service and fast casual restaurants are some of the few businesses growing during tough economic times. Excited about bulding out a restaurant and learning the operations side. Hope to have more to share by the second quarter of 2011.
Update - July 2009
I live and have an office in the City of Corona, CA. Recently purchased a new home and I'm in the process of landscaping the whole enchilada. Still in the commercial/investment real estate business; now for 29 years. I am beginning to phase out of the Realtor trade Association volunteer stuff after 23 years but may look to become involved in the financial planning trades. I still remain as a Director for the Realtors Commercial Alliance of Orange County and remain active on National committees as well. Still single (open to change) still exchange barbs with my good old friends from school (Jeff Stone has remained a best buddy). Every 4 years (like 2008) I hear from friends from the past because I was born on leap year, February 29 (easy for folks to remember)! I've traded in the convertible for a coupe and a SUV. I enjoy the same activities and recreation. I am an avid Angel season ticket holder and regular visitor to the Laguna Beach Pageant of the Masters. My latest venture is in financial planning. I founded the Kato Consulting Group and IRA Watchdog education group. We are focused on Retirement Distribution Education, rollover of pension plans and IRA's. In...Expand for more
simple terms, Baby Boomers needing to roll over there 401K's and the like into Self Directed IRA's. How to diversify retirement assets from all stock market and bank investments into real estate, businesses, notes, etc. as well. Regardless of investments, how to avoid tax traps and penalties on your retirement and strategies to pass your legacy on to your kids. I'm wordy because I'm pumped and worried about maintaining my lifestyle in retirement plus being able to afford my healthcare. I'm looking forward to hitting the road with seminars all over California. OK, boring stuff out of the way ... If you see a salt and pepper guy sipping on an aged tawney, cohiba in hand and staring at a sunset ... yell out "Hey, Uncle Richie" that be me!

Life
I have a home and a company in the City of Corona. My family all purchased homes on the same street. My business is Commercial/Investment real estate (which I have been doing for over 25 years) and Marketing (new business). Many of my friends are from Magnolia/Dale/Maxwell schools to this day. For many, many years we all met on Thanksgiving for our annual Turkey Bowl football game. Got to be that the kids would play with us and the grandparents would come to watch. I quit after I broke my wrist and had to have surgery! I have remained single (a dog but no kids) which has allowed me to be rather active in my profession. I am certified as a commercial broker and financial planner. I have served on numerous Boards as a Director and currenly serve on the Political Action Committee for the CA Assoc. of Realtors. I'm a big baseball fan & have season seats for the Angels. In my spare time I like trying new restaurants, outdoor jazz concerts, trying new B&B's, wine country, driving with the top down, learning new things, live theater and spending time with friends & family. I would love to chat with old friends...drop me a line...
