Richard's Story
I went to OWJC after high school and got my draft notice half way through the semester. Tommy Britts and I went down to the Navy Recruiter and joined for 6 years. After the service I went to PJC then on to UWF under the G.I. Bill. Graduated with a degree in Marine Biology in 1981 and worked for the National Marine Fisheries Service for eight years. er-in-law in Destin. I still do that to this day, 26 years in January 2010. Never been married, but two and a half years ago I met the woman I would spend the REST of my life with. I live with her and the zoo up in Crestview and commute to Destin during the week. We are both members of the Florida Trail Association and we help maintain the Florida Trail which is a national trail 1400 miles long, from Pensacola to the Glades. We also hike, bike, camp and kayak.
