Richard's Story
Hello, my friends. I graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 1970 and was commissioned a "regular army" second lieutenant in the armor branch. I married Linda, a Vanderbilt graduate, in 1971. I remained on active duty for three years. In 1973, Linda and I entered law school. We began our law practice three years later. I spent most of my career with Hospital Corporation of America, but also served as the general counsel of the Tennessee Department of Health, and later co-founded a healthcare company, which I ran for eight years before selling it to Vanderbilt University's Medical Center.. Along the way, I earned an M.S. in health administration in 1998. I have been semi-retired since 2013.

ters, both of them attorneys (Vanderbilt and Emory). Our oldest daughter is senior labor counsel for Nissan USA, and our younger daughter practices in Rome, Italy.
Linda and I have spent years in politics. I was a "Reagan" delegate to the 1984 RNC, and she was a Bush 43 delegate to the 2000 RNC. We have spent many summers camping in the American West and in Western Canada.
I read at night, concentrating exclusively on non-fiction (Churchill, World War II, American West, American Revolution). I belong to many heritage organizations, including SAR, Society of the Cincinnati, Founders and Patriots, and Jamestown Society.
I would be happy to see you if your travels bring you this way (Nashville). Best wishes to all of you.
