As some may remember, I joined the Navy Reserve while in high school. After graduation I attended the University of Massachusetts. While there I attended Officer Candidate School and upon graduation with a BS in Chemical Engineering, I was commishioned as an Ensign and stationed at Rota Spain for three years. While stationed in Spain, I married a Springfield girl that I met while at UMass and we have been married for alsmost 44 years now. We have two daughters, one in Connecticut and one in California. When I returned from active duty, I remained in the reserves and drilled in Springfield, Westover, Worchester, Whitestone NY and Freeport NY. I retired as a Commander in 1986. After active duty I worked at Moore Company in Springfield for 6 years as both hourly and management. We lived for a short time in West Springfield and eventually bought a house in 16 Acres where we lived from 1973 until 1986. In 1978 I went to work for Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford as a Manufacturing Engineer. I became a Manager in 1983. In 1986 I took a 3 year rotational assignment at the West Palm Beach Florida plant. Due to some organizational changes, the nature of my assignment got lost and I stayed in Florida for 13 years.
