Richard's Story
Life
I've got it made! A job I love and two great kids. A wife who was a stay at home mom the first 15 years after the kid's were born. Now she is career minded and works for the City of Visalia as a mgr. I still travel alot but the perks are great lots of free travel for my family. Life is good!
College
Impossible, went to school because unemployment was 12% then. Just my luck I graduated and then had to earn a living anyway I could. Fortunately I love my work as a engineer (electrical mechanical). you know those film labels on coke and pepsi containers, pet plastic. I build and sell the machines that put those on at 1000 containers a minute, cool. I work in the packaging industry so we do alot more than that but you get the idea.
Workplace
After college I went into graphic arts with my father. We both worked for A.B. Dick Company out of Chicago, my brother Gary ...Expand for more
also. In 1995 computers pretty much took over that buisness and I wanted to do something else anyway. My father had died in 1985 and it was hard to keep going without his support. I guess he was the only reason I stayed in that buisness. I went to work for a packaging company in california and got paid for travelling all over the world. I was self employed after 9/11. I really didn't want to travel as much. I was in Mexico City when the towers were hit. I had just left Washington D.C. the day after it happened. It took me 3 days to get out of Mexico all flights were grounded to the States. So I was an independant contractor for 3 years. I went back to work for that company because of the tax structure in California. Those of you who know California tax code will understand. So I'm back to travelling and hope we don't elect kerry so I can feel relatively safe, (relative).
