Richard's Story

Cholla High was something different as I look back, I was not much into the learning or much of the sports as I did prior to moving back to Tuscon. First period was more having breakfast at Denny's to figure out what to do for the rest of the day during my sophmore and Jr year. As a freshman I was pretty much a pain in the ass, attempting to fit in to a world of non military parents and rules. I thing I got kick out of school more than I should have (no trial or jury). The folks I did hang around I will remember them forever. They know who they are as they have left a lasting impression of what is important in life. Being true to yourself and those around you. True, it would be wonderful to go back to those times and change a few things. But, I find that getting kicked out of school, took a GED, then went right to college, had a bad rel...Expand for more
ationship with a high school crush it took to understand, there is more outside of the rest of that little world made me a much better person. I have a wonderful wife of almost 30 years, two great kids and three wonderful grandchildren. Most of this had been what I did learn at Cholla High school, not so much of the education by the books, but of the people and thank those that had and still are my dear friends. Only wish is that we could do the Denny's trip one more time...... I always wanted to be a cop when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a wonderful idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. Ride the motorcycle If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have water, sunshine, and fun to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
