Rick's Story

After high school I worked at Kodak for 23 ½ years. In that time I married my first wife Debbie in April of 79. We ended up in Brockport, Where we had three wonderful children, David, Megan and Melany. Was laid off in the winter 0f 99. Decided to take the winter off. Started looking for work in the spring. was hired at Brockport Central Schools, and trained as a bus driver. Well that didn't last long. Driving bus was easy, now put fifty kids on it, I don't think I need to say any more. Started driving dump trucks that lasted a few years. Moved on to cement mixers for a few years, to bad it wasn't year round work. Ended up getting a divorce after 24 years. Ended up living in Gates thats when I met wife number two Christina. We were married in April of 05. After that drove for a towing company. Operated everything from rollbacks to heavy wreckers. In that time frame we bought a house in Spencerport. That job lasted about seven years, got burned out, working 60 hours a week. Now I am working for Spencerport Schools on the buildings and grounds crew. Been there for about four years. We now have three beautiful grandkids, Jacob, James and Zachary. I enjoy hunting. I scored my first black bear Sept.16 2014, he stood about 5 1/2 feet tall and weighed about 200 pounds. it only took 38 years to get one, have seen a lot of them, but only got one shot at one. I also enjoy fishing, bicycling, motorcycling (about 1300 miles on it so far this year). Wednesday's are dinner and a ride night. Always looking for someone to ride with or go with. Like to go snowshoeing, camping, and backpacking and kayaking. August 5th thru the 14 2016 a friend and my self took a 9 day motorcycle trip. Our destination was "The Tail Of The Dragon". Which is located south of Knox...Expand for more
ville,Tn. on Rt.129. The tail is an 11 mile stretch o Rt.129 that has 318 curves what an awesome ride. We also went thru the "Great Smokey Mountain National Park". Picked up the "Blue Ridge Parkway" on our way home. The views were just amazing words really just can't describe it. We also stopped at "Harpers Fairy" that was pretty cool. After that we rode over to where the "Battle of Antietam" was fought. This place was totaly unreal. I couldn't believe such a battle could happen here on our soil. Over 22,000 Americans lost there lives there. After leaving there we made it home in a couple of days. We rode a total of 2566 miles in 9 days. This is one of the best vacations That I have ever had. October 2016 a very close friend of mine and myself took a weekend ride to White Face Mountain, We spent Friday night at a very romantic cabin in Woodgate N.Y.. The stars were just amazing that night. Saturday we made it to Tupper Lake where we got a motel room for the night. we dropped our gear there and continued on to White Face Mountain. The ride was just magnificent. The weather could not have been any better for riding. When we arrived at the base of the mountain it was only 37 degrees. when we reached the top the sky was so clear they said you could see over 80 miles. just breath taking. On our way back to Tupper Lake we stopped for dinner at The Hungry Trout. awesome place to eat if you are ever in the neighborhood. That night we had a heavy frost. Sunday we started heading back after the frost melted off the bike, The weather was just as nice today as it was the day before. We got back in town around 5 that evening. We traveled just under 700 miles this weekend. i thought the vacation before this was good. This one was so much better, hands down.
