Richard-RIP-'s Story

Life Rip, that's how you all knew me by, married a gal who turned out to be a model, yeah me, a woman actually thought I was worth marrying AND she stayed. No, I do not know why, but she was terrific. Just putting up with my antics made her a nominee for sainthood. I was a cop in Independence, K.C. Metro Homicide, Undercover Work- and always had a part time job working for Pat Sullivan. That to became pretty boring & I got caught up in the anti-terrorism Business or C.T. U. and trained in the south. Graduated from Univ. of Kentucky at Louisville. Have lived in Chicago, Grand Rapids, MI, Lake Geneva, WI, Houston, TX, Lafayette,LA, Baton Rouge,LA, Huntsville,AL, Miami,FL, Key West,FL ended up buying a small farm outside Osceola, MO, Barb and I ran a small country store while I still traveled and did some consulting. Barb, my lady of 40 some odd years got killed in 07, and I've kind of vagabonded around since. My first book was published in 07 also. Working on the second, made a lot of money and lost it all. I've seen a few of the ladies from school,NEEDED AN EDIT RIGHT HERE AND AM ENTERING THIS ON 11-16-2011- ABOUT SEEING 'OLD FLAMES' NEVER MIND- THEIR PERCEPTION AND MY PERCEPTION OF THEM IS 180 DEGREES OFF BUBBLE- THE PEDESTALS STILL EXIST BUT MOST OF THE LADIES I PUT UP THERE HAPPED TO BE LADIES AND VERY REAL PEOPLE-NOT THE PRINCESSES IN THE TOWERS I SO FOOLISHLY PLACED THEM IN- but would have liked to have seen an old flame, Carol Osborne. and often wonder about Cora Sue Weston, What fantastic eyes, cornflower blue with just a splash of freckles across her nose.Got to see my first real heart breaker,(I broke hers like the ever constant B-----D, I always was) Becki Layden, but she remarried her first husband and moved back to Michigan; Anyway, my personal email will require a bit of effort, contacting me through an outfit called tri-lakes.net, of course it's just rip and since I am relatively forgettable, make an effort if so inclined -If you ,look for the book you might find it still on Amazon - it's called XOF. Nice talking to the past, Lots of It- Well since I was last here 4 more years have slipped away- the book on my alleged time in Northern Ir...Expand for more
eland is almost finished- Honest, it is all fiction, and the tattoos, just things I picked up, the new book is a bunch of sonnets/prose about the "Girls Who Led Me Down the Garden Path" looks like Random House is actually going to put it on the market, Yeah me too, drop dead when I see anything of mine in print again, Is it me or are we all on the same Rocket Sled, going into that great unknown, it will be a grand adventure, like to end up on Pandora or maybe Pern, but in all probability, I'll meet that cat from Bangkok 'walking next to me'- Never forget our people in Free Derry, Belfast, or 'Bloody Sunday' nor the 'men behind the wire'- I always wanted to be a combat pilot when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were right. Turns out what I really did was sell my heart for pennies, and my soul for less. Traveled farther than I ever thought, outran my friends, my family, and the ordinary life a guy should lead. It's the price of perceptive freedom, from dark pubs in Belfast, to Tong Street in Bangkok. All I did was run from the responsibility of a good and decent woman and people who I thought were my friends-but we all make errors in judgment, I'm just repetitive. And deserve everything I got, just never expected the betrayal of those who I thought were closest. Romantica and those of us who believe it seem afflicted with that disease of trust, and are used to it's supposed cure, love - unrequited and lost. Miss two men who actually became famous, one died in Louisiana, the other moved from the Keys to Nashville and sells Land Shark beer, instead of wasting away in our old place near Margarita-ville. I have heard God loves the Absentee. Be cautious in your affairs, stay safe, and my best to those who judged me so correctly-the trip was just so kewl, that I never thought of stopping to tell those who were so important to me, that I did indeed love them for them and not what I thought they should be, but that is the way guys like me get put together, and eventually taken apart. I'd do the 'story wizard' thing, but after writing for the old "Nat. Lampoon", it's just too much like SNL's, 'Church Lady'.
