Richard's Story
Life...
Rich (who)?
To those of you who have visted my Bio, " Thank You" for your interest. I've rewritten my bio a few times but, it seems when I read it that I've never gotten it right nor the way I want it to be / sound. So I'll try again, and again and again.
I had to leave school at the beginng of my senior year, I had left home. I tried to finish and worked nights at the Dailey Pickle Factory and went to school during the day and slept when I could.
Then went to work at Grey Iron Foundry and got drafted into the Marines, so I joined the Army in late '68. No regrets!! I had the privilige to serving our country in Viet Nam as a 'Platoon Sgt.'! Got some medals, and my High School Diploma (GED on the first test and with no studying?) A few college degrees afterwards. Worked in the Corporate World 30 years (suit and tie), now gone, and wearing Blue Jeans, boots and Aloha Shirts.
Too much traveling and/or living in other cities / countries for 4-6 months at a time and away from my now ex-wife (1987) and son. It was not conducive to a good married life. I've lived many places in the U.S. and the around the World. Ttoo many to tell the truth. I lived in New Orleans for almost 17 years. Moved to Grand Junction, CO IN '08... They have a very good VA Hospital here and I have a sister here wh...Expand for more
o has not had a family member living close in over 30 years. Sooo.... just another adventure in life.
Some of you may have considered me somewhat of a dork, practicle joker / clown in class or just a misfit. That changed many years ago. I'm still 6'4" and about 200 lbs., no glasses and with a "hippy type pony tail", Yes it is and has been gray for quite a while now! I've been called hansome, many times, if you ran into me on the street in Saginaw you would not recognize me, of course nor I with you. And then again I do not go to Saginaw much... last time was Feb. 2011. Damn funerals alway bring you back home!
I listen a lot, we always have things to learn, be it bright and intelligent or just plain stupid. My goal each day, is to make at least 10 people Laugh, Chuckle or Snork... if I have not done that it is not a good day!!!
My philosophy on life is to not take it too seriously, pay my bills (we all do that), volunteer, enjoy people and make them laugh, enjoy life to the fullest. Life is too short, so enjoy while you can! "Lazzaise le bon temps roule"! In Cajun that means "Let the good times roll"
Writing a book...... short cliches mine and some from others.... ie, " A small bird can leave a Big Shadow"!
Leave a message if you are so inclined. It might be fun!!!!!!!
