Richard's Story
Hi friends -
I moved schools a lot as a kid, so I lost touch with people. Here's the update:
High School
Moved from Bay City to Lapeer MI. Missed my friends in Bay City and didn't spend much time in Lapeer.
College
I'm an MSU Spartan - loved my years there - basketball team, great friends, campus life yada yada.
Post-college - Spain
Graduated and moved to Spain for 15 months doing market research and then teaching English. Lived in Madrid and Bilbao and can't say enough good things about Spain - incredible food, friendly people amazing culture. Came out to myself and started to be happier in life.
Post-college - Chicago
Moved here 15 years ago and unexpectedly decided to stay for life. Great culture, food, people, ...Expand for more
entertainment, lakefront - you name it. Been involved in lots of good organizations - mostly making schools safer for kids.
Found my partner, Carlos, in 2001 and married, in Canada, in 2005. Glad we could at least make it official there. He's from Mexico so we visit there a couple of times/year. His family is wonderful and really helped show me a new culture. I feel lucky that we get along so well.
In Oct 2007, we brought our son, Ty'rith, into our home and he's been, mostly, a treat to have. All good, minus the standard 3 year old stuff . :)
Working in corporate america - focused on corporate learning and technology. Didn't imagine I'd end up there, but enjoy my job a lot.
