Richard's Story
2 weeks after H.S. Graduation (Class of '78 GRB) enlisted in U.S. Navy, stayed in 8 years and made 3 deployments onboard Aircraft Carriers ( U.S.S. Independence, Forrestal and Kitty Hawk). I had visited countries such as: Spain, Italy, Sicily, Greece, France, Morocco, Saint Thomas Virgin Islands, Peurto Rico, Jamaica, Philippines and Hawaii. After being stationed in Washington State and California returned to NY State in 1986. In 1990 got married to Lisa, we have 2 wonderful daughters (Tiffany born 1994, Alyssa in 1999). Held several jobs, Welch-Allyn, GE, and others. Left Syracuse, NY for a new job in Livonia, Michigan at a Newspaper Co. ( year 2000) and was there for 2 years (returned to Syracuse 2002 ). Retired in 2004 from the Military ( Naval Reserves and Air National Guard) with close to 26 years of service. Had worked for Cooper Industries (Crouse-Hinds) until the 2008 Recession hit.
Lately, my greatest pride has been my daughter, Tiffany, accomplishments in High School as a 11th Grader (2011-2012 school year). Majority of the time on High Honor Roll (96.3 gpa) and excels/ a talent for Art. She currently ranks 5th in her class. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Art Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars.

emony ( at her High School in May) received the Syracuse University Book Award and the Clarkson University High School Achievement Award ( a scholarship worth $36,000 ). Tiffany is employed by Best Buy (Carousel Mall) as the youngest employee on their payroll and was given April 2012 MVP award (Employee of the Month). Also since she is in Spanish 4 in H.S. she is their designated translator at Best Buy.
Well what else can I say, we all should be proud of our children.
As you know I didn't put much effort into my studies in High School (78 gpa). That is correct as I was half hearted into my studies and immature. I rather play with friends after school like Street Hockey, Flag Football, Sandlot Softball , Camping, Sleding, and going to the Swimming Pool or YMCA . I did earn money by delivering the Syracuse Herald Journal newspaper for 5 years (1971 -1976) then lawn tending jobs and shoveling snow.
I did not participate in school athletics or was a popular student. I think most of my peers liked me but generally kept their distance. It was nice to know few came around later in our Senior year to get to know me alittle. Guess late is better than never. I'm glad to have known many of you as my classmates and wished there was more time to reflect back and realize we all could be good friends.
