Shortly after high school, I joined the Marines. I enjoyed my time in the Marines. I went to The Hague, Netherlands and worked at the American Embassy for a year. I left the service in 1978 and literally bummed around Memphis for a few years. At the end of 79 I packed up and moved to Nebraska. The best move I ever made..I met a great lady and we were married in 1986. For one reason or another I cannot have kids but my wife had two young kids that needed a father. So I became a dad to a 7 yr old girl and a 9 yr old boy. I didn't realize it at the time but this was the beginning of something great. 17 yrs ago my son, had a little boy. He's the closest thing to my on son I'll ever have. Austin is the greatest gift that has ever been given to me. Next month he will be 18 yrs old. He is 6' 5" tall and he wears a size 15 shoe.
