Richard's Story
- Candidate for the Washington State Legislature from the 29th Legislative District
- Currently the Director of Indonesian Special Security Projects for Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold; overseeing programs at the world's largest copper and gold mine located in Papua, Indonesia
- Graduated from UMass-Amherst with a BA in Economics in 1981
- Upon graduation, commissioned an Army 2nd Lieutenant and enjoyed a 30-year career in the US Army, primarily in the Infantry and Special Forces
* Commanded Special Forces units from the company to Group (Brigade) levels - as a Colonel, commanded the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Lewis, Washington from 2004-2006.

t US Embassy-Jakarta, Indonesia and final assignment at the US Consulate-Jerusalem as Director of Operations for the US Security Coordinator for Israeli-Palestinian security cooperation (2010-2011).
- Received Masters Degree in Asian Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, in 1993
- 2002 National Security Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University
- Upon retirement from the military, established the 1st Special Forces Group Scholarship Fund and to present continue to serve as Volunteer Program Director.
- Married with one child and currently residing in Washington
- From 2012 to present, serving as Director of Special Security Projects for PT-Freeport Indonesia, subsidiary of US mining company Freeport-McMoRan, and work in Jakarta and Papua, Indonesia
- Still a die-hard Sox, Pats, Bruins, Celtics, Brockton Boxers and UMass Minutemen Fan!
