Richard's Story
Been through a lot in my life. Surprised I made it through those high school years. For me they were literally HIGH school years. I got away from that though. Learned to accept myself which led to being able to love myself. The kids I went to St Alphonsus with did a real number on me and my self esteem. I hurt for all the kids who get bullied to this day. Thankfully, I did not do anything drastic and permanent.

e that, I moved from Charleston to Hollywood. I've never been happier.
I had a tough year in 2013. I lost half of my lung to cancer. I am cancer free at this time and working on keeping it that way. Still trying to find out if it was caused by asbestos exposure. If it was I am lucky, but then that's been the case with me all my adult life.
I get back to Grand Rapids pretty regularly. When I am there my sister and I do genealogy research on my mothers family. We have learned some really cool things and found many generations going back to England and Austria. I find this stuff to be fascinating.
