Richard's Story

Life After graduating from NYU Law School in February, 1971 (with time off for active duty in the National Guard), I started a banking career with Bankers Trust Co., where I stayed for 2 years. The next 18 years were spent with National Westminster Bank and its corporate predecessor in the area of corporate finance. At the time of my retirement at age 46, I was executive vice president of the bank in charge of the Corporate Finance Division, which included departments for leveraged buyouts and other highly structured transactions, Health Services and Project Finace departments, and Loan Sales and Syndications, and also as Pesident of NatWest USA, the small business investment affiliate, and Chairman of t...Expand for more
he Investment Committee of NatWest Equity Corp, the entity for making direct equity and subordinated loan investments. In recent years, I have been running two investment advisory firms, R. D. Tunick LLC.and Katsura Asset Management LLC. After law school I lived in Manhattan and married in 1975 to Carole, moving to Scarsdale in 1980, where I we resided until 2015. We have 2 children, Robert, a graduate of MIT, and Erica, a graduate of Cornell, both of whom reside in NYC. Erica is married and has one child. In 2018, I became a Florida domicile, residing in Palm Beach. In my leisure moments, I stay in shape by working out in the gym and taking long walks, play golf, and compete at duplicate bridge.
