Richard's schools include Tahoe Truckee High School. While attending Truckee Elementary and Tahoe Truckee High school I used my step fathers name of Walker. During my junior year at the age of 17, like a dumb ass I quit school and joined the military (Oct 66) at which time I had to use my birth name of Richard E Winchester. After completing basic training at Ft Lewis, Washington and AIT at Ft Leonardwood Missouri I was sent to Mannhiem Germany. There I received my GED, Promoted to Sergeant E5 and received orders for Viet Nam in 1968. All told I spent 23 plus years in the military with 4 tours in Germany, 33 months in Viet Nam, 2 Tours as A Drill Sergeant and Senior Drill at Ft Leonardwood. Tours at Ft Hood, Texas and Ft Benning, Georgia. In 1972 at Ft Hood I met the love of my life Susan Rawlins and we were married March 1973 and have been blessed with 2 lovely daughters.
