Life
Let's see...
After graduating from Fontana High School in 1978 (dang, that was a long time ago) I earned Communications and History degrees at Cal State Fullerton and then became a sportswriter for 11 years, working at the SB Sun, the Anaheim Bulletin and the Daily Bulletin in Ontario.
When I realized that traveling and working nights and weekends covering professional sports was a great job for a young single guy - and I was neither anymore - I decided to go to Cal State San Bernardino and get a teaching credential. I wound up getting credentials to teach both elementary school and secondary school, since I thought it would make finding a job easier.
Believe it or not, my first teaching job came in 1990 when I went to work in Rialto as a first grade teacher. It was literally a Kindergarten Cop routine, but I stuck it out and for the next 10 ...Expand for more
years I taught at the elementary school. I taught every grade level except kindergarten, but spent most of my time at fifth grade.
Then in 2000, I moved over to Rialto High School where I was hired to teach journalism and U.S. History and I've been there ever since.
This year I will have been married for 25 years to the former Suzanne Bennett, and I have two kids. My daughter graduated last summer from UC Davis with a degree in Animal Science and Management and my son is starting his second year at UC Riverside where he is studying Biology and playing baseball.
We are active in our church, Calvary Chapel Rialto, where we oversee the Marriage Ministry together and I oversee the Prayer teams and Deaf Ministry, while Sue has a number of responsiblities in the Women's Ministry.
If you remember either of us, send us a note. We'd love to hear from you.
