Richard's Story
Life
Personal Life - I got married to Debbie Alperstein (NN Class of 71) in 1974 and have 2 great sons (Joshua, 32 years old, married and living in Phoenix, AZ with his beautiful wife Jessica and my 3.5 year old grandson Evan and Daniel, he'll be 30 years old in December, not married, living in Illinois). I got divorced in February of 2001.
I'm dating a wonderful woman from Buffalo Grove, IL (I live in Buffalo Grove as well),
Work Life - I spent more than 30 years in the IT field then got laid off. Since then, I have been working in Retail (first for Sears and now for Staples.
For Fun - I have been a Barbershopper for 30 years - 23 with a little chorus in Evanston (most of which as Dire...Expand for more
ctor) then Joined the New Tradition (Northbrook) chorus in 1999. In 2000 we won a Silver Medal (2nd place) in the International Competition (Choruses for all over the world compete), in 2001 we won the GOLD Medal (1st place) and in 2004, 2005, 2006 we won Bronze Medals (3rd place, 4th place, 3rd place). In addition to singing BASS in the phenomenal chorus, I was one of the Assistant Bass Section Leaders and one of 3 Assistant Directors of the chorus (we fluctuate between 90 and 130 men). I've taken a 4 year hiatus from the chorus but will most likely return some time this year. I love watching old, romantic movies as much as I love those old Broadway Musicals while cuddling with my honey
