Richard's Story
Richard is from Plant City, Florida, but is currently a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is married to the former Nancy Jones of Naha, Okinawa. They have three sons, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Richard was active duty USAF for 29 years and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in 2003. He served as a munitions and weapons specialist in 14 locations during active duty, including 10 stateside bases in 7 states ( Florida, Texas, Idaho, Ohio, Nevada, California, and New Mexico), and 4 overseas locations (Germany, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Korea). Richard has deployed extensively, serving in Oman, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Guam, Italy, Spain, and various other locations. ections for 5-years after retiring from active duty, followed by a 2-year assignment to Headquarters Air Combat Command as Deputy Chief, Logistics Plans and Readiness. In 2010, he returned to the Office of the Air Force Inspector General in New Mexico, and retired from his position there as Chief, Analytics Division in 2019. Earned degrees include an AAS in Munitions and Weapons Systems Technology, BS in Science and Technology, and MA in Military Strategy and Policy. Richard is a certified DoD Inspector General, and LEAN, Six Sigma Black Belt Process Improvement Practitioner. He is also certified in Acquisition Lifecycle Logistics. Richard was formerly an instructor and chief of curriculum at the Air Force Combat Ammunition Center, an advanced combat planning and production school specializing in combat bomb production.
