Richard's Story
Life
Went to Mississippi after high school to attend college, dropped out in 76 to join the Navy, spent 4 years on active duty as a company commanders aide and then hospital corpsman with the Marines (2nd ANGLICO) and reenlisted in the Navy Reserve and stationed G7 Starion Hospital. Returned to college in 80 to 83 at University of Maryland. Started my own company designing and contracting high-rise waste handling systems (trash and recycling chutes, waste compaction systems and postal specialties,etc...). Remarried with 4 kids (3 biological and 1 Stepdaughters)

in Nursing and my youngest is in PA school at Eastern Virginia Medical School. I have 5 grandchildren at this count.
We have relocated from the Washington DC area to our second home in Lancaster, PA (my wife, Laurie's home town). We have down-sized with most of the kids gone and love living in center city Lancaster, PA (we have a 1900 row house we are renovating and are only three blocks from the center of the city). We are mortgage free now that we sold our home in Maryland.
I returned to healthcare as an EMS Provider in 2010 after the recession crushed my business, working in several different roles. I semi-retired in 2021 but continue to teach EMS training the next generation of EMTs and Paramedics.
