Richard's Story
Life
Joined Air Force 4-days out of VHS and spent almost 9yrs. Married 47yrs, 2-sons,(now 51 & 47),3- grand kids. Wife was from San Francisco did heavy duty volunteer work. Heart attach and Open Heart surgery ended my corporate career. I Retired from International Paper Co., Inc. Oct '93. Started my own business Feb '94. Oldest son currently runs business and I golf most of the time and also service on City Council. Life has changed in last few years. Wife of 47-years passed away Jan 2005. This has changed everything I now do. Always thought I'd be the first to go. Time passes and you move forward. Now have found a new life partner.
School
Was not a great student. Lettered 3yrs in Track went to CIF Championships two years and finished second in low and high hurrdles. Played football senior year didn't play-wasn't big or good enough even though we lost every game. Tried to play baseball but track got in the way.

Tipped scales at 135# when got out of HS now 180.
Member of Choir, Letterman's Club, Gents Car Club, Drama, Radio Workshop and FFA.
Worked at Bush Drug Store, Mayfair and Ventur Theater.
Drove Black 1941 Ford Coupe.
College
Ihave a little over 3-years of college credits. In addition to SF State I attended Contra Costa Community College. I took numerous extension courses while in the Air Force. In 1971 I attended Golden Gate College and took a Masters course in International Business. While in the Air Force I attended numerous schools in Manpower and Organization which related to 1-year of college credits.
Workplace
I have spent my working life either selling something or managing companies. My work life has been rewarding in accomplishments and financially. I've been offerred the opportunity to live in different parts of the country, meet interesting people and establish many friendships.
Currently, with my oldest son we own and operate River City Paper Co., Inc.
