Richard's Story
Started out 1973 in the USAF, stationed at Charleston, SC & Mountain Home, ID. was deployed to Tague Korea and Amberley QLD 4306, Australia. After 4 fun years there got out, came home and hired on at Chevrolet, spent 3 weeks there and couldn't handle being pained in a yellow square area not allowed to get out of it, so I quit, and started traveling in my career field (NDI Inspection). Worked at Stone & Webster Engineering, Graver Energy out of east Chicago IN, Lockheed in Marietta GA and finally landed at Zetec in Issaquah WA. After a long time there left for southern CA, Coronado CA, loved that area. Then visited my parents who had retired in Marengo IN and discovered they couldn't even change a light bulb, heard the call to go and oversee them, so in 2006 I moved to Marengo, IN. continued there for 9 yrs, now I am settled and happy in Anderson IN area. I have been around the world several times and find it funny that I end up back where I started, or at least close to it. I have two grandson's out In Pacific WA who I get to visit often, and oldest son just married and is a Arson Investigator in Baton Rouge, LA. Life has been very good to me and I don't think I would change a thing. I have minimum of 3 yrs left for retirement but as a computer analyst, I am good for at least 5 more years. Hope to attend any class reunions that may happen, last one I was invited to I lived in WA state and with all my travels in nuclear power I was unavailable at that time. I now only work approximately 4 - 5 months out of the year, the rest of my time is well spent right here in good ole Indiana.
