Richard's Story
I'm currently working as a Licenced Clinical Social Worker treating clients for mental health and substance abuse issues. After high school I attended and graduated URI with a Bachelors of Fine Arts. I immediately moved to NYC where I pursued a career in Acting. I became a member of Actors Equity and Screen Actors Guild in 1974. I did numerous productions in NYC, dinner theaters, summer stock and various bits in movies. I got tired of the rat race after 8 years where I transitioned into Theater management. entually pursued a career in video editing at Betelgeuse Productions in NYC. I moved to Atlanta in 1990 with the plans of continuing video editing but lost that job opportunity due to the Gulf War. I went back to acting in Atlanta where I performed in several productions. I was working in a production of "Bent" when I almost died from cirrhosis due to a long standing medical condition. I moved back to RI to live with my parents as I was dying, when I was fortunate enough to receive a liver transplant in 1994. I have been healthy since. I remained in RI but now that my parents have passed I would like to move to the South West.
