Richard's Story
Life
A lot has happened in the last 37 years. I graduated law school in 1979, passed the bar and my CPA exam. However, in 1981 I went into the wealth management business and in 1988 transferred to Smith Barney/Citigroup where I was for 20 years as a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio manager. In June 2008 I left a sinking ship to go to UBS Financial Services where I am currently a Senior Portfolio Manager and Senior VP. I have 4 children David 24 working Ernst and Young, Laura 22 who graduates Stockton College in May 2009, Matthew 20 and EMT and studying nursing at Camden County Community and Rose 11 who is in the 6th grade at Friends Central and aspires to be on Broadway. I have been married to Christine McGinley since 1995 and we are also partners in business at UBS. Life has been great as we have been able to travel, recently spend summers at the Ventnor shore and also retain passion about work and family. I would love to hear from you to see how things are going with old friends.
School
Had many crushes in my classes at various times probably still have some today.
Hard question but I liked Mr Haut and Mr Kramer in high school but my all time favorite was Mr. Finkel in 8th grade.
Yes but ...Expand for more
I would have acted out more crushes.
Happiest graduation, funniest when Mr. Moore would scream as you neared the mile "Come on boy, come on boy, click of the watch and FLUNK :( , craziest memories were Richard Sax smoking cigarettes in Spanish class because the teacher did.
College
1972-74 Penn State University
1974-1976 Temple University (Summa Cum Laude)
1976-1979 Temple University School of Law.
Lived away from home for law school and had season tickets for PSU 1975-1979.
College was where I learned to work hard and play hard.
Workplace
Started as accounting major going to law school but fell in love with finance. After 2 years at Price Waterhouse 1979-81 (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) I left for WH Newbold's a small main line firm that was the 2nd oldest continually operated firm on Wall Street, where I was named the youngest Senior Vice President of the firm at 28. Right before my 3rd child Matthew was born, I moved my office in 1988 from Newbold's to Smith Barney which was 5 minutes from my house. I have worked with my partner Christine McGinley since 1988 and we have been partners since 1992 and married since 1995.
Military
None although I have all the respect in the world for those who serve.
