Richard's Story
Life
I went to Tulane University in New Orleans after high school. Taught in Jacksonville Florida for two years to avoid Viet Nam. Then I taught in England for three years on a US Air Force Base near Cambridge. After that I moved to London and was Drug, Health, and Outdoor Education Coordinator for all the Dept. of Defense Schools in England, Holland, and Belgium. I took a Sabbatical to spend 9 months travelling overland from Europe to Japan. Went back to Germany to work as Director of Hinterbrand Lodge Outdoor Education Center in the Bavarian Alps for five years. Returned to the Colorado to work on Ph.D. at U of Colorado in Social Foundations of Education. Finally graduated in 1992. I have worked at Eagle Rock School as librarian, computer teacher, and Piñon House parent for almost 9 years. I like Colorado but am thinking...Expand for more
about a change sometime soon. Maybe Oregon where I have a house on the Willamette River or possibly Hawaii or overseas again. I have a cat named Elektra. Would love to find a travelling buddy who doesn't always want to stay in the Hilton. Maybe I'm stuck in the sixties. I finally sold my 22 year old VW camper. It must have had 400,000 miles on it. I missed it so much I went out and bought a used 36 foot long Winnebago RV two months later. I left Eagle Rock School in 2006 and have been living in my RV until now. I wander back and forth between Oregon and the Northwest and Colorado and Florida. I just moved to Eugene, Oregon. I bought an old house on the Willamette River in 1979 and kept it as a rental property until now. It has a little orchard on the side. It would be great to see any old classmates and former Sandcrabs.
