Richard's Story

Life (mostly the Then) Well, as a quick into. I was in JROTC for 4 years at Maryvale. Worked at ABCO from 86 to 90. I quit ABCO in 90 and started at Dolphin which is an investment-casting foundry owned by PING Golf. I have worked there ever since. I married Mindy Kreger, the younger sister of Marci Kreger, in 91. Our daughter was born in 1991. We bought a house in Phoenix in 1992. We moved in 2 and a half weeks after my son was born (on Brianna's 1st birthday). I went to refrigeration school in 93. After graduating, we took a vacation to California and when we returned, we spent the next 2 and a half years going through a divorce. Lost everything but my kids, but that's all that mattered to me. By the grace of God, I received sole custody of our children. I still have the Maverick however it's resting in the yard just the way it was in school only really faded now. Parked her in Nov. 94 when going through my divorce. She couldn't handle all the stress. Now she feels like a wayward stepchild. Life (mostly the Now) I now live in Peoria AZ. and I'm still single. The kids are doing great. Richie and I attend Glendale Nazarene Church on more then a regular basis and Brianna is working as the Children's Pastor at a Nazarene Church in Scottsdale. Richie spends the summer working at camp for the Grand Canyon Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is a counselor and certified life guard. Both of them are attending Nazarene Bible College for the Theory classes that will complete there degrees. They will both be youth ministers. Richie is also into music ministry. May 6th 2010 Richie earned his EAGLE Scout rank and is now an Assistant Scoutmaster with our troop. After he made Eagle, the Scoutmaster stepped down and in Aug. 2010, the troop committee selected and voted me in as the Scoutmaster. I'm in the same place I've been for many, many years now. Only my roles have changed as time went on. At work, I spent the first 8 mon...Expand for more
ths as a machine operator on days then transferred to the maintenance department as a "helper" for another 8 months. Then I went to nights and stayed on that shift for 10 years. 911 of 2001 was my last night. They asked me to come to days and try to keep our robots (2 at the time) going. Now, I'm the companies Robot integrator, programmer, repair "specialist" and personnel trainer. I took over that position when the only person the company had quit. Now I have 11 Robots I take care of along with a bunch of other things. As mentioned, I'm also in Boy Scouts. This is where I spend quite a bit of time. I was in Girl Scouts with my Brianna as well. We had our own troop with around 8 girls, but she decided to quit. Girls are tough to work with... Show up, don't show up, some want to camp most don't, so, we passed it on to my sister who then passed it on to someone else. Brianna determined that she gets to do all the "fun" stuff with the6 Boy Scouts so why continue with the girls. She could take that time and put more into church. I, when we have some rare free weekend time from scouts, we go camping and boating through the summer / warmer months, Quad Riding up north in the summer and lower desert in the cooler months and MC riding (HD FatBoy) pretty much year round. I gave my father my previous bike when I bought the FatBoy so he now gets to go with us. Up until his quadruple bypass, both kids were able to go on our rides at the same time. Now they take turns. I love taking my kids out of town to see things. Nothing beats getting away! Up until having to take on more of a role in scouts, I used to lead a bike group at church. I like golfing though I stink at it. I only go a couple times a year as the kids and I spend most of our weekends hiking and camping with Scouts. If you look for me in Maryvale, forget it! I only pass through going to work. You can find me on Facebook and on photo bucket under people, search rangertrx.
