Richard's Story
Joined US Navy July 1959 and after basic in Great Lakes Illinois served at Brunswick Naval Air station in Brunswick Me. Next duty assignment as Naval Station Argentia Nfld.
Met my wife during the summer. Introduced by her cousin. Married in Sept 1965 so it's been 46 years this year. Wife was Karen Jean Wager from Old Kings Road in Catskill going towards Saugerties. Her father Henry (Hank) Wager ran a milk dairy with his brother Harry until retiring the cows in 1987
Worked at Ferroxcube in Saugerties, NY from 1963 to 1971 (Laid off) then on to F.L. Russell Corp in Sauge...Expand for more
rties from 1972 to 1986. (Laid off) Then to IBM from 1987 to 2003. Retired in 2003 from IBM. Started working P/T as a school bus driver in Sept 2004. Don't work summers so I can golf-golf-golf.
My Kids. 2 sons.
Eldest is a Aero Space Welder Dinobil Industriess in Coxsackie, NY. He also operates a greenhouse and nursery, with his Wife Denise, here in Saugerties. It's name is Cedar Ridge Nursery.
Youngest is a corrections officer for NY State. He and my daughter-in-law Maria recently adopted a wonderful Grandson named Alex Dean Valerii Miller from Vladimir Russia.
