Rick's Story
I didn't graduate from Glen Burnie. I attended from 1970 to '71, played JV soccer and made some cool friends. I went on to become a Maryland State Trooper and ended my state police career as a paramedic on the medevac helicopters.
Later on I accepted a position as a counter-terrorist operative with the feds. I also returned to school and got a master's in history. Meanwhile I explored caves in Croatia, imbibed beer in Bruges, and glided over glaciers in Greenl...Expand for more

Although retired now, I still travel the world. For some time now I've also been writing novels. Most are thrillers, and "Cobra Clearance," "Follow Apollo," and "Mark Air" have all received literary award nominations. My memoir, "A Door Left Open," was a candidate for the 2020 Pulitzer Prize. Although I didn't win, just being nominated gave me a warm & fuzzy. Since then I've started work on a new thriller, but I always have time to hear from old friends!
