Rick's Story
Started out after high school wanting to join the Marines elite group "Force Recon", My Dad stopped me, so I joined the world's largest motorcycle organization to get out my rage. I married Sharon Proell In 1969. We had two great girls while I went on to school and received a degree in computer science, then in 1976 joined the police force while working for Caterpillar Corp in Mentor for several years. Caterpillar closed down so I went into truck driving for a time until I started working for US Steel as a Metallurgist moved on in 91 to working as a lead inspector at Accurate Metal for 13 years then after taking care of my mom for 15 years she passed on, and I moved on to Arizona where I ...Expand for more
live now and love it. I broke my back in 1986 and was down for 18 months. Later I went back into training female body builders again for several years, because I had started in 1964 lifting weights and continued off and on do to school or the club. Finally I moved to Arizona for my health. I have had 5 spine surgeries 2 on my neck and 3 on my lower back. Due to nerve damage I live in pain 24/7. The doctors tells me I will end up in a wheelchair it is just a matter of time, but I'm still fighting to prove them wrong. Ok it is Sept. 2009 and ya I'm in a wheelchair again, but I still thing someday I will be back in the saddle of a Harley again. Then ride till I die, what a way to go out.
