John's Story

Born in Amarillo, Texas, June 12, 1950
I spent the first 20 years in the West Texas town of Amarillo. I have an older brother and had a younger sister. I had seven uncles and three aunts, which were excellent role models for a child of a single mom. I was very close to my grandparents as I lived with them the first six years of my life. I had one aunt that I was especially close and although she had four children of her own, she treated me as though I was her fifth child. Family,
I have a wonderful wife Kay, a daughter named Andrea, a son named Ryan and a son named Connor. I am a long distance caretaker for my elderly mom. Locations resided
I have lived in the following states: Texas, New Mexico, New Jersey, Georgia and Nevada. Education

The four most important things to me in life are spiritual growth, physical wellbeing, always learning and cherishing relationships with others. Life experiences

Throughout my life, I have helped others through contributions and dedicating personal time. For one year I drove into Manhattan once a week and helped a children’s brain disease research group at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in NYC. I helped them automate their research material and connect it to other research information. I helped a border agency automate their pharmacy in Hidalgo County, Texas. I worked in a women’s shelter Jersey City, NJ repairing and repainting their facility. I worked with a homeless support group in New Jersey. I ran the United Way campaign for the corporate IT staff in New Jersey, soliciting over $250,000 from 1600 employees. Since moving to Nevada, I have volunteered for trail cleanup and maintenance at Lake Mead, Red Rock NCA, and worked with Nevada Wilderness. I was just recently Foreman of the Grand Jury for one year. Other activities
I enjoy artist activities including drawing, painting, and sculpture. I have participated in these activities over the last 20 years I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and photography. I am an animal lover and enjoy dogs and horses. Conclusion
I enjoy being around others and helping others in any way that I can. I enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and want to enjoy it as much as I can. If I have helped you, I have succeeded. If I have taught you something, I have succeeded. If I made you laugh, I have succeeded. I love my wife and my children.
