Life
After high school? What's there to say? For those of you who don't know, I changed my name to my step-dad's last name. So, I officially go by the name of Rick Mallars instead of Rick Fitzgerald. Went to college at USC in South Carolina, Spartanburg for one and a half years, then moved back to Alaska and attended UAA for two semesters. I met my future wife, Amy Chenovick, at Perry Merrill's birthday and she talked me into moving to Portland, Oregon where I graduated from Portland State University with a B.S. in Administration of Justice. Amy and I got married in the summer of 94' in Helena, Montana. We moved to San Jose, California and lived there for two years while Amy earned her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy. While in San Jose I worked for Circuit City Stores, Inc. and became a professional magician. After Amy graduated we moved back to Anchorage, Alaska and I went to work full-time with my father's company, Alaska Divers & Underwater Salvage and worked part-time as a magician. d across the pond and lived in Italy for three years. While living in Italy, I wrote my first novel "Golden Valley" and my first child was born. His name is Jaden Pierce Mallars and he is now 6 years old. In 2001 we moved back to Anchorage and I went to work for the State of Alaska in the legal department of the Worker's Compensation Division. While working for the State, I wrote my second novel "Armistice". After writing my second novel I quit working for the State and bought a franchise fitness center called, My Gym Children's Fitness Center. Right before we purchased the franchise, my second child was born. Her name is Katrina "Kitty" Marnae Mallars and she is currently 3 years old of this writing. I have owned My Gym for the last three years and during that time completed my third novel "The Agent". We currently live in Anchorage where I am hard at work on my fourth and fifth novels "The Bestseller" and "Tower of Conviction." Look for them soon!!
