Rick's Story
No idea what happened to the profile I wrote several years ago. Okay after graduating WHS I attended Pasadena City College and Cal State Los Angeles receiving an Associate and Bachelor degrees in Broadcasting. I was drafted in 1969 and served at Fort Ord California, Forts Kobbe and Clayton in the Panama Canal Zone as a member of Recon Platoon, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion 5th Infantry, 193rd Infantry Brigade. ency planning based on my military reserve assignments. I trained people at Disney, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Army at Fort Richardson Alaska and on and on. In 2000 I was tired of traveling and went into local government as a disaster planner for Volusia County (Daytona Beach) as well as other counties. In Volusia, I managed the Homeland Security Grant and related training and exercises for 11 years. I retired from the military reserves as a Master Sergeant (E-8) in 1999. Since retiring from the County I have been traveling the Caribbean, U.S. National Park Tour, Eastern Mediterranean Cruise (Western coming up), Ireland, Scotland with New England, Cuba and a 4 country South American tour coming up. Too busy working and traveling to get married. Not that I am proud of it. It is merely the way it is. No family, no kids. I have probably missed much.
