Life
I woudnt say I enjoy life, but I do tolerate it. I am a downscaler who lives near debt free in a 1950's rancher house on the foot of Red Mountain near Greensprings in Glen Iris. It is like Homeywood used to be, big lots, cheap, and no snobbery. I got a UAB degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology and have a business, Southern Biomedical, Inc. I maintain anesthesia equipment. No big money-but alot of freedom. I am married to a good ole North Ala country girl who puts up with my negativity well. She works the State as a reading coach for ARI. No kids. (Id hate to pass on the genes!) I have alot of cars from muscle cars like my old 1971 GTO-LeMans ragtop to a blue 1975 Gremlin, and wrenching on them is my true passion. I basically am best working with my hands and damn near fix anything...that's how I keep 8 cars and no car payments...or do they keep me! I have become a bit political, and am very dis-affected with the way the gov handles issues such as illegal immigration and population growth. I fear how un-informed my fellow man is, and cringe at how anyone could vote themselves more taxes. same fools get voted into office. We are headed to socialism. I listen to talk radio alot. I hate watching the South grow...to me, growth is ruining it. Hey guys, dont yall remember how quiet it used to be in Homeywood, well, at least when me and Jon LaFon werent doing holocaustal burnouts! The growth is ruining the quality of life here and in most Southern areas. I dont want Bham to be like Atlanta!!! But it will be unless something big like a more severe terrorist attack occurs.
I have a medical conditon , sleep apnea, that causes me to have very little sleep. A resultant operation in 2001 on my jaws for this was botched giving me a very bad voice, and no success on curing the sleep problems. Subsequently, I work alot less, and take alot of naps. Got a new/better chin out of it anyway! Ive been told I look around 35 ish, so that's inspiring. Im still lifting the same old weights i used in college, and excercise on good days, so maybe that's it ! Maybe its better to look good , than feel good. If you see a white GTO, Blue Gremlin, Black Grand National, black FBI 9c1 Caprice, etc-honk, its me. Dont be mad if I shoot a bird, Ill probably think the honk is road rage.
