Rick's Story
Well it all started one day after high school ended.Sence I had already been accepted into college Northwestern no silly not the Northwestern - but northwestern connecticut community college. That s where i developed an instructional group guitar program complete with a book which i later gave to the local YMCA where i gave instructions. During that time in this little corner of the world I met several world class music artists and jammed with them very cool. That reminds me... one day i walked into my favorate resturant/dinner where this day only one seat was open at the counter,so i sat down and said hello to the gentleman to my right.At this point the owner was unusually busy filling' orders. Sooo i started chatting with the gentleman to my right. Soon the Fireside was a buzz about cars so i began to talk to the gentleman about about my great little convertible. The gentleman inquired as to the maker and model of the car so i cheerfully told him. He bolted from his seat and out the door the rest of the Fireside cleared out
accept for one man who paid the bill for all. I was stunned,
i looked at the owner and said what did I do? He replied that was Ralph Nadar and your car is a corvar. I have voted for him ever sense then. Well i finished my AS degree. Oh did i mention I was also conditionally accepted to Ottawa University in Kansas,

awa kansas darned in gene garb ripped and torn with beards but freshly showered we left campus with the target of whitecaped mountains on our minds. There were three rides that partically still stand out in my memories. The first was a family who piicked us up halling an open top and fenced sided trailor which we traveled through rain as we took turns driving the car. We were picked up with a strange young guy who happened to be on the same coner as we were at the time and he even smelled bad. One time as my buddy drove the car this 3rd road warrier began to tell of how he is a member of hells angles and how proud he is of his originals. Originals the pants you dont take off for anything for months- that explained the smell.
Well we didn't really like me so he took a knife 6-7 inch blade and pressed it quick and hard against my jugular. Not knowing what to say i completed him on how nice his knife looked several times, then asked to get a better look at the knife sence i couldn;t see it very well under my chin.. he eventually complied. I briefly eximaned it then through it over the side of the still moving trailor. A confrontation
immidately took place where a lesson of respect was delivered by me and my fists. A second memorable ride was in a classic old caddy with a single driver just my friend and i and I 70. WE sat in the front seat all 3 of us, As we are traveling down the road at a bout 70 mph the driver pulls out a 45 all shinny and sticks it to my belly i turn to my friend and said jump... he hasn't got a clue- then the driver says "I just wanted to see if your cool " as he puts the 45 back under the seat.
